AMC-PICO-8-US+

Embedded Web-Server with Oscilloscope

The AMC-PICO-8-US+ is a 8-channel 1 MSPS 20-bit electrometer that combines the functionality of the DAMC-FMC2ZUP carrier board with the performance of the FMC-PICO-1M4 picaommeter boards on a state-of-the-art platform.

The device runs an embedded Web-Server with an Oscilloscope GUI that presents all typical oscilloscope functions as tracing, triggering modes, mathematical operations, spectra analysis (FFT) and data saving.

The AMC-PICO-8-US+ plus is composed by a DAMC-FMC2ZUP board housing two FMC-PICO-1M4 mezzanine cards.

The analog front-end is made of a specially designed transimpedance input stage for current sensing combined with analog signal conditioning and filtering stages making use of state-of-the-art electronics.

The sampling of the four channels is performed simultaneously at a maximum rate of 1 MSPS with a 20-bit resolution.

The Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) are based on a SAR (Successive Approximation Register) architecture that guarantees low delay for fast and feedback applications.

Each channel has two full-scale measuring ranges and the current source can be floating up to ±300 V respect to the chassis ground. The floating capability of the inputs is perfectly suitable for applications where the detector or current source needs to be biased.

AMC-PICO-8-US+
Based on the DAMC-FMC2ZUP carrier board.

The AMC-PICO-8-US+ is the evolution of the successful AMC-PICO-8 board by CAEN ELS and it is based on the DAMC-FMC2ZUP carrier.

The DAMC-FMC2ZUP board is equipped with a Zynq UltraScale+ XCZU11EG-L2FFVC1760E by Xilinx and allows having improved performance in terms of computational power and functionality.

All oscilloscope functionality on-board with the Web-Server GUI!

All oscilloscope functions are running on-board and are directly accessible using the Embedded Web-Server with the oscilloscope GUI as:

  • channel traces;
  • auto-scaling;
  • triggering schemes;
  • statistics;
  • spectrum analysis (FFT).

A specific tab for Beam Position Monitoring is also provided in order to make the interfacing the quadrature monitoring systems straightforward.
