The FMC-4SFP+ is a FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC – VITA 57.1) High Pin Count board that allows for dual of quad channel fast SFP/SFP+ communication.
It offers up to four SFP/SFP+ module slots. All module pins are translated to the FMC carrier voltage VADJ that can be in the range 1.5 V to 3.3 V. With its low operation voltage it can be used on almost all carriers. The module is designed as a HPC.
The components are placed to be compatible also with carriers that have components under the FMC module. The SFP+ cage is placed to fit all carriers without front panel modifications.
The module feature and I2C-controlled LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) oscillator chip (adjustable via a DIP switch or I2C interface) that operates in a wide range of frequency: 10 to 280 MHz. Automatic configuration of clock oscillator and modules for stand-alone operation is also provided.
A dual-channel version – i.e. FMC-2SFP+ – with standard FMC bezel and a quad-channel version – i.e. FMC-4SFP+ – without front bezel are commercially available.
